CBD derives from the infamous cannabis plant and it is always associated with THC, which is inaccurate. THC is illegal in the UK, CBD isn't 🦁
THC gives you "the high". CBD makes you mellow and better rested 🌿
The CBD compound comes from the Sativa cannabis plant - the two classifications of cannabis plant are Hemp and Marijuana - most know of the latter.
Hemp contains less than 0.2% of the THC compound (legal) which means its low level of THC makes it safe to use, with no psychotropic compounds. Hemp has huge potential to be used in many applications, but so far, it’s only harvested for CBD (legal).
Marijuana / weed contains more than 0.2% of the THC compound (illegal). Although many love this stuff, it is an intoxicating cannabinoid and creates a euphoric effect - "being high". Weed remains illegal in the UK, which means Amsterdam will still be the place to go
As far as CBD is concerned, it is non-intoxicating meaning you won't get a high from it, which is perfect for those of you wanting to relax without the euphoric effects.
